Cameron Lynch is the President and Founder of The Lynch Group, LLC, a full-service government and media relations, and political consulting firm. The Lynch Group advises corporations, associations, and non-profit entities on how, when and where to engage Congress, the Executive Branch and various media outlets. Additionally, the Lynch Group provides strategic political, communications and finance consulting to candidates for statewide and national office. Cameron has over fifteen years of experience working with members in elected office, on political campaigns and in the government relations arena. Prior to establishing his own firm, Cam previously served as Counselor to former Senator Robert J. Dole. Cam oversaw and managed Senator Dole’s client and political portfolio at the law firm of Alston & Bird, LLP, where he also worked as an attorney in the firm legislative and public policy group. Prior to working for Senator Dole, Cameron served as a Legislative Assistant to Senator John McCain as well as a Policy Advisor to Senator John Ashcroft – later the United States Attorney General. Under both Senators McCain and Ashcroft, Cam directed numerous legislative and policy directives. Cameron worked on the Bob Dole 1996 presidential campaign, the John McCain 2000 presidential campaign and the George W. Bush 2004 reelection campaign. In 2008, he was the National Chairman of Young Professionals for John McCain 2008. Cam continues to be an active consultant and fundraiser and strategist for national and state GOP campaigns.
A frequent author and speaker, Cam has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Hill, Roll Call – who named him “one
of the top 50 public policy professionals to watch under 40” - and dozens of other national publications. Cam has appeared as a commentator on FOX, CSPAN, CNN, NPR and Bloomberg News and often speaks at seminars and universities across the country. Cameron’s writings have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Daily News, Politico, National Review, The Hill, The Georgetown Public Policy Review and various other political and policy journals.
Cameron is an Adjunct Professor at the George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management, where he teaches classes in political campaign strategy and historic Congressional agreements. He also writes a weekly column for U.S. News & World Report on politics and policy.
Cameron received a B.A. magna cum laude from Cornell University, a J.D. with honors from William & Mary, and a M.P.P. with highest honors
from Georgetown University. He is a founding board member of the Washington Political Film Festival as well as a member of the United States Supreme Court Bar, the Washington D.C. Bar, the Maryland Bar and the American Bar Association.
Originally from Kansas, Cameron now lives in Washington D.C. with his wife Sarah.
