Lourdes Long joined the Bipartisan Policy Center in February 2009, working on the former National Commission on Energy Policy. Her policy work includes nuclear energy and nuclear waste; electric sector reliability and incentives for clean energy development; and domestic natural gas production and markets.
Originally from Northern California, she graduated with honors from the University of Notre Dame with a B.A. in anthropology. While at Notre Dame, Long developed a strong interest in energy issues. She worked to establish an Office of Sustainability and co-founded a student organization that received the Energy Patriot Award from Senator Richard Lugar in 2008.
