The United States Energy Association and the Bipartisan Policy Center, hosted a presentation with Senator Pete Domenici on the future of global nuclear energy.

After 36 years of service in the United States Senate, Senator Domenici retired at the end of the 110th Congress and is now a Senior Fellow at the Bipartisan Policy Center.

Senator Domenici outlined a 21st century framework for global nuclear power and what policies are needed to secure and support its expansion. Senator Domenici’s address:

• Considered the global nuclear renaissance and its implications;
• Proposed a new non-proliferation paradigm to support the nuclear renaissance and provided a framework for peaceful deployment in the developing world;
• Discussed the need for U.S. global leadership to responsibly manage and secure increasing amounts of used fuel.
