As millions of children begin the new school year, the food they eat is becoming an issue much debated and discussed. How can government and industry work together more effectively to promote good nutrition? What can parents, agriculture producers and school officials expect from those developing and influencing public policy? These issues and more will be explored at the Bipartisan Policy Center's (BPC) Bridge-Builder Breakfast.

Opening Remarks by Robin F. Schepper, Executive Director
First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! Initiative

Panelists include:
Congressman Jim McGovern (D-MA)

Scott Faber, Vice President of Federal Affairs
Grocery Manufacturers Association

Barbara Belmont, Executive Director
School Nutrition Association

Charles Conner, President & CEO
National Council of Farmer Cooperatives

Moderated by former Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman, now a Senior Fellow at the BPC.

A series presented by the BPC, Bridge-Builder Breakfasts highlight institutions and individuals who are reaching across political lines to solve critical challenges facing the country. At a time when partisan conflicts often attract the most attention, the BPC is committed to creating a forum for those who, despite differing views, are willing to collaborate in order to advance the common good.
