General Ronald Keys joined the Bipartisan Policy Center in February, 2008, shortly after retiring from the Air Force, where he served for over forty years. His last assignment was as Commander, Air Combat Command (ACC), and Air Component Commander for U.S. Joint Forces Command, the Air Force’s largest major command. In his last position, General Keys was responsible for organizing, training, equipping and maintaining combat-ready forces for rapid deployment and employment while ensuring strategic air defense forces are ready to meet the challenges of peacetime air sovereignty and wartime defense. ACC also assisted national agencies with intelligence, surveillance and crisis response capabilities and developed a substantial consequence management response and command and control capability for Northern Command. General Keys holds an M.B.A. from Golden State University, San Francisco, California and a B.A. in Entomology from Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas.
