Deficit reduction: 'Hard but not complex'

Alice Rivlin, director of the Office of Management and Budget for former President Bill Clinton and a member of President Barack Obama’s National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility, watched the process in Philadelphia with one of the groups that took part in the exercise.
'People do understand that part of the problem has got to be solved on the revenue side and part of it on the spending side,' Rivlin told participants via satellite. 'I can assure you that my colleagues on the commission are listening very, very carefully to this discussion.'"
