Washington, D.C. – Jason Grumet, President and Founder of the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC), issued the following statement following President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address:
“It’s significant to see the President returning to the themes of bipartisanship that featured so prominently during the campaign. Despite the uphill fight, no Administration can accept a Washington that simply doesn’t work.
“On key national issues such as health reform, debt reduction and climate change, real solutions will only be achieved through a bipartisan approach. The President’s call upon Democrats to recalibrate and Republicans to collaborate suggests an approach to Congress that will be both more inclusive and more assertive.”
