Steve McMahon is an attorney and founding partner of the democratic communications firm McMahon, Squier and Associates. McMahon has worked on Presidential, Senate, Gubernatorial and Mayoral campaigns across the country. The principals at McMahon, Squier & Associates have worked for 34 current or former United States Senators, more than twenty current or former Democratic Governors, and over two dozen current or former members of United States House of Representatives. McMahon also worked in the U.S. presidential campaigns of Senator Edward M. Kennedy, House Minority Leader Richard Gephardt, and served as senior political strategist and media consultant for Howard Dean’s 2004 presidential campaign. McMahon also handled Dean’s successful campaign for chairman of the Democratic National Committee, and served as one of the Party’s principal strategists from 2005-2009.
On the international front, McMahon and his partners have worked as strategic advisors or campaign consultants on three successful presidential campaigns—in Venezuela for Carlos Andres Peres; in Nicaragua for Violetto Chamarro; and in Greece for Andreas Papandreaou. His firm has also done issue advertising for the Democratic National Committee (DNC), the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).
Steve McMahon appears regularly as a political commentator on the NBC Evening News, ABC World News Tonight, The Today Show, and on Hardball with Chris Matthews. He is also a frequent guest on CNN, FOX NEWS, and MSNBC, and has appeared on Meet the Press, Good Morning America and the CBS Evening News.
